Abstract

The aim of the publication is to analyze the current state and problems of interventional cardiology in Ukraine, to propose ways of its optimization, development and improvement in today’s conditions. Materials and methods. A review of the literature was conducted and the own experience of development and improvement of interventional cardiology in the cardiac surgical center was analyzed. Results and discussion. One of the necessary steps to optimize the work of interventional cardiology departments is to educate the population on the correct and timely actions when symptoms of an acute myocardial infarction occur, to comply with the logistics routes of patients with an acute myocardial infarction developed by the Ministry of Health, to constantly maintain and improve the skills of interventional cardiologists by upgrading cardiac centers with a high load of ischemic patients to the status of “educational” and cooperation with foreign clinics and specialists. A promising direction for the further development of interventional cardiology in Ukraine is the wide implementation of endovascular interventions for structural heart defects. Cardiometabolic medicine is the latest preventive approach, which allows to follow up the patient with accompanying metabolic disorders as efficiently as possible after interventions to prevent the recurrence of coronary heart disease.
