OUTLOOK OF VASCULAR SURGERY EDUCATION IN UKRAINE FROM THE STANDPOINT OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION

Abstract

Course to European integration requires implementation of postgraduate education in Ukraine to EU standards. Corresponding provisions to every specialty are reflected in the requirements of UEMS – a non- governmental organization representing national associations of medical specialists in Europe. Training in vascular surgery as a monospecialty estimates 5 to 7 years of education included theoretical knowledge and practical skills on open and endovascular surgery. Article reflects the possible pathways how to adopt postgraduate training in vascular surgery to current situation in Ukraine in order to shift it to European standards.
